Sanlam Securities (UK) forms a strategic partnership with Velocity Trade for mining transactions

Dec 16th, 2014

Velocity Trade Holdings Ltd. (“Velocity Trade”) and Sanlam Securities UK (“Sanlam”) jointly announce that they have entered into a strategic partnership for the purposes of providing reciprocal access to, and increased exposure of, each party’s respective corporate finance and brokerage services within the Canadian junior and mid-cap resource sector, primarily mining.

London-based Sanlam Securities UK has an established small cap mining sector franchise, and specialises in corporate finance, institutional brokerage services, and research and sales for small to mid-sized United Kingdom and African based resource issuers.

The team at Velocity Trade specializes in turn-key services and solutions, as it relates to listings on Canadian Stock Exchanges, mineral property brokering/transactions, due diligence mandates, mergers & acquisitions, and corporate structurings. This alliance will provide small and mid-cap Canadian mining companies with access to European investors, and facilitate UK and European companies’ access to projects and turn-key commercial transactions in Canada.

Simon Clements, Head of Corporate Finance at Sanlam Securities UK commented: “We are delighted to announce our partnership with Velocity Trade, which will be of great benefit to our prospective and existing clients, and will go a long way in differentiating our service offerings. There are plentiful mining opportunities in Canada, and we look forward to extending our relationship with Velocity”.

Simon Grayson, CEO of Velocity Trade commented: “The formation of this partnership with Sanlam is timely given our recently acquired broker/dealer in Canada, Magna Partners Ltd., a wholly owned entity within the Velocity Group of companies (see News Release dated October 31, 2014 at www.velocitytrade.com). This acquisition and the partnership with Sanlam springboards our ability to work with more Canadian entities, as well as those internationally-located issuers seeking access to the Canadian market.”
